Italo Calvino

Brief Biography
Italo Calvino was born in Cuba in 1923,and grew up in
San Remo, Italy.
During the occupation of northern Italy by the Germans in World War II,
Calvino joined the partisans. He wrote a series of stories drawing on these experiences, and subsequently became an essayist and journalist.
He was married and lived in Paris with his wife and daughter
until his death in 1985.
